We are seeking a Technical Editor who is not just proficient in editorial skills but also has deep expertise in computer hardware, operating systems, and fixes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, edit, and proofread articles to ensure technical accuracy, especially in the areas of computer hardware, operating systems, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with technical writers to develop in-depth guides, how-tos, and analysis pieces on hardware fixes and solutions.
- Provide technical insights for content focused on computer hardware, software, operating systems, and fixes.
- Validate the technical accuracy of tutorials, guides, and reviews related to hardware and software fixes.
- Maintain an editorial calendar that includes a focus on hardware topics, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Use metrics and analytics to assess reader engagement with hardware-focused content and adapt strategies accordingly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in technical editing or journalism, with a strong focus on computer hardware and software.
- In-depth knowledge of computer hardware components, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and common troubleshooting procedures.
- Certifications in hardware (e.g., CompTIA A+) or operating systems are highly advantageous.
- Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, style, and syntax.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
